Waterfalls

Waterfall
insightfully I try,
to string piercing words
and let them sing,
burn the ears off doves with ink stained notepads,
and steel encrusted mics,
while I stay with the beauty of words.
wield the power of a simple verb
though cunning catamouths might lay in wait
a steel booted step
and a stingy brim can gleam
thru the bamboo shoots,
rice paddies and cane fields
like a monsoon levels a tropical rainforest,
(not "jungle", that's Brazil)
bare it raw
descend on Kilimanjaro's peaks
with the Mau Mau chasing Rhodes
as scholarly as a missionary's bible
like a pacifier to a baby
yet I choose hunger so my
stomach burns
the way demonic ice
infiltrates the brains
leaving scars
twisted hemp
cat-o-nine tails
tobyless legs running in
molasses trying to master
wine
not knowing that drums
can't be silent when winds blow
and 4 quarters don't necessarily equals a dollar
and what's the difference between John Brown
and Howard Johnson?
Vanilla ain't my flavor
I like my sugar
ungranulated,
thick
twisted strands
caps the dolls of my
dreams
with a clenched fist
prong going through my tresses,
hoe the curried fields of my brain
letting the Atlantic Ocean
erupt like the cascading flows of my waterfall,
Victoria ain't an apt name in the heart of
Alkebuland,
can you feel the rainforest scream?
the body is rejecting that donation
and the transplant won't take
not the way Christiaan Barnard
took out a patent on heart transplant.
planted another false tree
in a petrified forest
and saw Eden become hell
Euphrates stand still
make Cain sing,
weeds bleed,
and graves grieve.

you see,
we
digging holes but not
digging what we hold
hands out,
not hand outs,
its ten fingers looking
for ten times ten more
It’s not crabs pulling back
it's brothers pushing back
bending backs
giving up shoulders like ladders
step
reach down
pull and step
locking black future in an African dance
communal march to the doors of hell
be it God damn Gotham
or Washington
march and raze all
the stolen fields of dreams
burn flags that unfold to smother black babies
with a constitution
that constitutes nothing but our
destruction
destroy the mental chains
level capital hill
and capital gains
drag boots off the throats of the
first world
and see my black sons live
slice the insidious webs
of Pepsi and Coca Cola,
multinational plantations
2001 disguised puppet masters
feel me snip Geppeto's strings
let them take their wooden nose
that grows and grows
into western sunrise
middle eastern Egypt
Columbus day parades
and aids came from gays
Japan wanted the Enola Gay
blacks are better at sports
Elvis was king
Special kids can't learn
the meek will inherit the earth
driving Miss Daisy is a good thing
caged birds do sing
dogs are man's best friend
men came from apes
white is a color
slavery was ordained
heaven is in the sky
and I like living like this
so I smile
because I am happy
and blondes are a brother's dream
shit call OJ collect and let him
sing
crack Michael's shell and see what's within
then dare to tell me this
shit
ain't got to end.

Black Like Me!!!

Black Like Me!!!

Black like me?
How the fuck?
What way in hell?
Artificially injected melanin,
Chemical compound and a
Enhanced hue.
Al Jolson like mask
What!  What!
Living 40 years righteous and still on the ground
Scratching my ass to feel grains.
No fucking cheddar,
Cheese whip ain’t for me,
Slave whips use to be,
Cat-o-nine-tails and carpenters dreams
A million and one retarded teardrops that never fell
Drowning in my own salted sea
Screaming so loud only Lassie can hear me
Walking in public spaces and altering street corner
Realties,
That’s a birth right!
Brent Staples said that not me.
John Howard Griffin,
Black like me!
Fuck
Feel the rush.
Hear the mother fucking Congo,
Niger,
Nile.
That Atlantic Ocean should run red!!!
Middle passage my ass,
Fucking burial at sea!!.
Why do you think Jaws was so mean?
Turn the world upside down and made sharks
Fishermen!
Black like me!!!!
Fuck
You can’t dance to my drums
You don’t face the world knowing
That the only joy it offers you is death
Shit
My empty bags would destroy your mother fucking back,
Pack that shit in.
Analyze this!
Why does a black man enter a store and suddenly cast a white shadow?
How comes a black man can walk down a street
And
Lock doors
Windows
Drop drapes
Shut shades
Change the direction of the wind
Make you forget what direction you are going
Intensify your love for god
And start you praying!

Funny shit
A black man can make most white folks believe
They are all Houdini
He walks into a room and they all turn him invisible
Just stare right through him

Black like me!!!
Fuck a 24-hour nightmare
Try a day after day in your face fear
What time is it?
When will the boys in blue say
“Hey you” click!
Shit no
Boom
Damn it
Boom!
 Boom!
Boom!

If it ain’t aids
Its sickle cell
If it ain’t the grave then a jail cell
Trees consumed quite a few
Vietnam did a mother fucking number too
Mix 40’s and crackerjacks
Jack you
Your sons
Your brothers
Daughters and sisters tasting cream and forgetting
Chocolate
Walking in synce
Sinking their fingers into Barbie’s curls and voicing
Discontent with naps.
Dreading locks
Fools think are serpentile.

Black like me?
Sugar  water for tea.
Wonder bread and mayonnaise.
Please
Water can stretch anything that comes in a can,
Bottle,
Container of anger so torrid
That it burns the sun
Black like
Black like me?
John Howard Griffin
Pure
White fantasy

AMERI CAN

Ameri can not get with you on this,
But eye can and the plan is still the same,
Bury me not in a land where one man can call another a slave,

Abraham Lin con the world into calling him the black libera tor
The sheets off his face and saw, his notion of amerikkka wasn’t meant for me.
Kennedy got done and Malcolm said nothing but chickens coming home to roost,
Found himself on the grill being roasted by those he called pigs,

Bro, dig that foxhole deep cause they sure would like to see pens like yours asleep,
And they claim you have freedom of speech,
Long as what you speak isn’t in contrast to what they preach.

But eye stay conscious of the ways of the false iman with birds
Of prey on towers of
New Babylon, bringing fire, death and
Destruction from caves.
Stand me in a corner, pulling my card to see where eye be, what eye be,
It’s a headband not a tur ban this rage in me
Take the torment of millions of sleepless voices,
Torn from Africa’s most humble breast.
Ghettorized, terrorized, profiled on posters of stars,
Marked with red crosses and holimen sleeping with boys 2 men,
Pulling puppet strings, tossing pigskins, day time bats, and
Cauliflower ears for the years of cuffed hands trembling with Parkinson.
Now done at 41, tripping on my own
Dribble, balls without bells ringing in dreams marked with fist to
Walls and night cries of ten blonde cornbraids
And M & M nuts to Bubber Sparks, and Britney Spears
When it used to be Al Jolson capitalizing on ghetto styles yet
Ghettos rise and crack sell, liquor and cornbread, yet
SURR schools,
The headmasters can’t spell and the kids are the failures?

Black is evil yet white hides in light,
Shit pour water on my anger man age wine turns to blood of my
Blood boils as the Bush burns like Nero eating the flesh of
Pekinese duck,
Scuds, Patriots, ethnic cleansing,
And Palestinian homeland the source of strife?

IS YAR EL?
Bottles on bullets, India and Paki Stan off the button
Drop hersilles and strip mother earth cause trees can’t stand
In the way of progress, casinos and skyscrapers the tools of our destruction,
Global warming.
Ozone lay her with fatherless children crying in the night as they ponder
What’s left?
Them tired of this,
Courtney cries as the newscast despair with the report of
A downed plane, bodies broken,
Ripped the shield of invincibility,
They did this before!!!

Cold war, hot lead.
Dance Michael, moonwalk through the minefields like I got
Jammed in the matrix and there is no getting out, because didn’t
We see this before? There was
Somalia, there was Vietnam,
There was Korea,
There was 11
And 1 and on and on and on,
The blood flows and the dark man is called a minority with the
Birthplace of this earth
The third world???

Eye don’t dig graves for black dreams and it’s not what it seems
When they tell me my rage isn’t a de fense me in hell
Hold me back and stick pins in my eyes,
The broom didn’t sweep these lies under any rugs,
Cause Louima, and Bumpers, Diallo, Stewart, Jones, and on and on
And on the bible they swear that wallets are guns us down in
Day light my path to hell with these tales they tell
Times
They cell to the black man
Original sons of earth,
First world creators of the universe al envy
Their desperate shun me and mine sentries of putrid fields like it
Never was theirs to give me a place on this world like sneak
Thieves at the back door.
Cleanse the empty plates with wet lips and parched throats yet,
Eye stays conscious of the ways of the Klus less wonderers
Telling my children lessons not taught in schools
Where his tory is of me as only slaves, and boot liquor,
Drunk driver, pussy seller, stick up kid,
15 to life bid not on this
Stephen king saga,
No wool for the eyes of this
Sheep when I creep, but lion when I
Wake the sons of my son, words not guns,
Knowledge of self, kings, queens, marching to the drums of the
Congo, Niger
Nile flows with the tears of our fathers
A new world for my sons, daughters, rulers
Righteous Africans,
Original
Man.
